Welcome to our 17th annual Prophecy Update. And over the years we have seen many things that the Scriptures talked about coming to pass before our very eyes. And as you look at the things that are happening in this world, things that are happening in the Church today, it can be very discouraging. In fact, I have titled these studies, “Houston, We Have A Problem!” because as you look at these things, there are many problems out there, some made up and some very real!
And so, in our first study we are going to be looking at various aspects to the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, events that need to happen before He returns, such as: the coming one-world government, the coming one-world religion, the re-gathering of the nation of Israel, the Jews back in the land of Israel and the coming Middle East war and-so-on.
And as I was thinking about this and praying about what to teach on, I saw that this can be very depressing to some. That is why we will finish up in our second study looking at the Rapture of the Church because I believe that this is the next big event for the Church. It is what we are to be looking for. I wanted to end our study on a very positive note and in a way that would encourage us to go and share our faith because the time is short. Now I know, some of you are thinking, “What if the Lord doesn’t return for 20 or 30 or even 50 years!” That is not a long time folk’s, in fact, it is very short. And so we need to understand what this event is about and what we are to be doing until the Lord returns. And I think I have some very interesting Scriptures to share with you regarding this event, some that you may have not even seen before, but are very clear when you look at them.
So with that as my introduction, let’s begin looking at the problems that are out there and really, for us, there may be difficult times ahead, but they need to occur before the Lord comes back for His Church and then the start of the seven year Tribulation Period leading up to the second coming of Jesus Christ when He will rule and reign from Jerusalem and righteousness will fill this land!
1.
ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT
As we look at the signs of the times, the first one we will look at is what is being spoken of by leaders all over the world, and that is this idea of a one world government. Now before we dig into this, listen to what John Lennon wrote back in 1971, the song is called, “Imagine.”

Now as you listen to those words we see John Lennon speaking
of no countries, no war, everyone living as one and what he is
speaking of is a one world government. Even our own president
was listening because John speaks of no possessions, no greed,
a brotherhood of man and our president wants to take from the
rich and given to those that don’t want to work. I better
stop before I go too far off here. But what John Lennon sang about
is happening today, not because John Lennon wrote that song, but
because God said that in the last days the world would be united
together in a one world government. In fact, in Daniel chapter
2 it is the last governing empire that Daniel spoke of and is
pictured by this multi-metallic image that the king of
Now for those of you who may have not heard this before, I need to lay some groundwork for you so you understand that this is not something that just started within the last 20 years or so, it has been on the drawing board for a long, long time. In fact, way back in 1968 the Club of Rome had its beginnings with leaders from ten different countries gathering together for solutions to the world’s problems and their claim was that they had the answers for peace and prosperity for the world.
Then, on September 17, 1973 the Club of Rome released this report: Regionalized and Adaptive Model of the Global World System. This document divides the world into ten political/economic regions that they call, interestingly enough, “kingdoms.”
What I find interesting is that what they said back in 1973 seems to follow the free trade agreements that are being made. In fact, on July 18, 1993 Henry Kissinger, a CFR member and Trilateralist said the following in the Los Angeles Times concerning NAFTA: “What Congress will have before it is not a conventional trade agreement but the architecture of a new international system . . . a first step toward a new world order.” The phrase “new world order” is speaking of this one world government. Thus, these ten toes of the multi-metallic image of Daniel chapter 2 are the ten political/economic regions that will represent a one-world government in which we are moving quickly towards!
So what is going on today? I will share with you some of the things leaders are telling us. First of all, in regards to this one world government and dividing the world up into 10 kingdoms or states, listen to what the former leader of Russia, Putin, had to say, and keep in mind he may be their leader once again. I think he is still controlling things in his role right now. But this is from a report on October 4, 2011 and we are told,

Then there is the former German leader, Gerhard Schroeder, who is calling for a “United States of Europe” and this is from September 4, 2011. The report tells us,
Former German chancellor Gerhard Schroeder on Sunday called for the creation of a “United States of Europe,” saying the bloc needed a common government to avoid future economic crises. . . .
“The current crisis makes it relentlessly clear that we cannot have a common currency zone without a common fiscal, economic and social policy,” Schroeder said.
He added: “We will have to give up national sovereignty.”
“From the European Commission, we should make a government
which would be supervised by the European Parliament. And that

Once again it is very clear what he is calling for. He wants the seventeen or so states that are part of the European Community to become one. That again is showing me that this will be, in its final stage, one of the kingdoms that the Club of Rome spoke of and one of the 10 toes that is spoken of in regards to the image in Daniel chapter 2.

After its founding in 1973, Trilateral Commission members wasted no time in launching their globalist strategy. But, what was that strategy?
Richard
Gardner was an original member of the Trilateral Commission, and
one of the prominent architects of the New International Economic
Order. In 1974, his article "The Hard Road to World Order"
appeared in Foreign Affairs magazine, published by the Council
on Foreign Relations. With obvious disdain for anyone holding
nationalistic political views,

But how can we, as a sovereign nation, an independent nation, join a world government? Our Constitution doesn’t allow for that? Listen carefully to what author James McGregor Burns published in The Power to Lead in 1984. We are told:
“The framers of the U.S. Constitution have simply been too shrewd for us. They have outwitted us. They designed separate institutions that cannot be unified by mechanical linkages, frail bridges, tinkering. If we are to ‘turn the Founders upside down’ – we must directly confront the constitutional structure they erected.”
Now what if we don’t want this, what if we want to remain a sovereign nation? Too bad and I guess, too late! James Warburg said way back on February 17, 1950 this bold statement, and keep in mind that James Warburg was a member of the CFR, and before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee he said these words: “We shall have a world government whether or not you like it – by conquest or consent.”
Now a one world government is not necessarily bad unless whoever is leading it is bad. And that is the problem. The only one world government that will be perfect is the one that is lead by Jesus Christ and not man! Think about it. When Hitler was causing all his evil you could flee to other countries for safety. But not in a one world government, there is no place to run; there is no place to hide!
And folks, what may have seemed impossible only some 100 years ago, even 50 years ago, is now very possible, a one world government! It is not IF it will happen but more WHEN it will happen as Arthur C. Clarke tells us in Childhood’s End, “Fifty years is ample time in which to change a world and its people almost beyond recognition. All that is required for the task are a sound knowledge of social engineering, a clear sight of the intended goal – and power.” We will have a one world government and it looks like we are quickly moving towards this last world empire before Jesus comes back to set up His kingdom on this earth!
2.
ONE WORLD RELIGION
We
have spent a lot of time dealing with this falling away from the
faith over the past year or two and I think it is important to
understand what we believe and where the Church is going, the

Now, as you read through the book of Revelation you will see that it speaks of a false prophet who will rise up and unite the religions of the world together and cause the people of the world to worship the Beast or the Antichrist. Revelation chapter 13 describes this man as having two horns like a lamb but he speaks like a dragon! Thus, he is the false prophet.
Over the years we have seen this ecumenical movement growing
where the Christian faith is being watered down; it is being compromised
so we can all come together in peace. The idea is we all worship
the same God even though we may take different roads to get there.

by different names! Obviously that is not true and Paul warns
us in I Timothy 4:1-2, “Now the Spirit expressly says
that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed
to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in
hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared with a hot iron.”
I am sure many of you have seen that bumper sicker that says, “COEXIST” and the letters make up the various symbols of the major religious faiths. Like it or not, we as Christians can’t coexist with the religions of the world because the religions of the world are at war with the true and living God, the one we serve! That means they are at war with us! And thus, the only way for the Christian church to coexist with the religions of the world is to water down what we believe and that is exactly what is happening today at an alarming rate!
Back on June 26, 2011 we saw many churches across the country read from the Quran on Sunday morning. This event was promoted by the Interfaith Alliance and Human Rights First and the theme for that Sunday was, “Faith Shared: Uniting in Prayer and Understanding.” And we even saw large churches in our state involved with this garbage! Allah is not our God and he is not a god at all!
And sadly, many top Christian leaders from our country
are very involved in this “interfaith movement.”

In fact, some time back, many evangelical Christian leaders, including Rick Warren, Robert Schuller, Brian McLaren, Richard Cizik, Bill Hybels all signed a letter to the Islamic community that was entitled, “Loving God and Neighbor Together.” And in this letter it is abundantly clear that these Christian leaders consider Allah and the God of the Bible to be the same entity!
And as I look and see what is being taught in churches today, many times it is nothing more than New Age and Eastern Mysticism combined together and it is not Christianity, it is not the narrow way that leads to life, but the broad way that leads to death that is being taught!

One of the many examples of the New Age implications of The Message is seen in Eugene Peterson’s paraphrasing of the Lord’s Prayer. Where most translations read “in earth, as it is in heaven,” Peterson inserts the occult/New Age phrase “as above, so below.” The significance of this mystical occult saying is seen clearly in As Above, So Below, a book published in 1992 by the editors of New Age journal. Miller describes how the occult/magical saying “as above, so below” conveys the “fundamental truth about the universe” – the teaching that “we are all one” because God is “immanent” or within” everyone and everything.

Now let me tie this into another topic that is very New Age and is coming into the church today. Listen to the definition of this phrase, “as above, so below.” We are told:
This phrase comes from the beginning of The Emerald Tablet and embraces the entire system of traditional and modern magic which was inscribed upon the tablet in cryptic wording by Hermes Trismegistus. The significance of this phrase is that it is believed to hold the key to all mysteries. All systems of magic are claimed to function by this formula. “‘That which is above is the same as that which is below’ . . . The universe is the same as God, God is the same as man.”

Do you see what is being said here? It is saying that we are God because God is in everything! How can that be? Listen carefully and I will show you how this too has come into the church and it once again is a New Age teaching!

believe we see this idea of man being god spoken of in

you still doubt that, look at
In verse 8 the word “He” or “Christ” is italicized, it shouldn’t be there but was put there by the translators to make it clearer, but it truly doesn’t. It should read, “Many shall come saying, ‘I AM.’” Isn’t that interesting because that is what the New Age movement is saying and it is what the church is now also saying, that we are god!
M. Scott Peck, a psychologist, wrote a book, The Road Less Traveled, that has been read by many Christians and New Age followers, and yet his words are not of God and that leaves only one other place they came from!
He wrote, “God wants us to become Himself (or Herself or Itself). We are growing toward godhood. God is the goal of evolution.” (The Road Less Traveled, p. 270). How sad that Christians have read this book and yet see nothing wrong with his teachings! I have seen this book in Christian bookstores, in Christian book Distribution Company’s, being promoted by Christians! It is not at all Christian and yet, Christians are reading it and thus, do they believe we are god?
Matthew Fox tells us that, “We need to become aware of the Cosmic Christ, which means recognizing that every being has within it the light of Christ.” “Everyone is born a mystic and a lover who experiences the unity of things and all are called to keep this mystic or love of life alive.”
M. Basil Pennington wrote, “When we go to the center of our being and pass through that center into the very center of God we get in immediate touch with this divine creating energy . . . that the divine energy may have the freedom to forward the evolution of consciousness in us and through us, as a part of the whole, in the whole of the creation.”
“[T]he God who dwells in our inner sanctuary is the same as the one who dwells in the inner sanctuary of each human being.” (Here and Now by Henri Nouwen, p. 22).

In His book, The Coming of the Cosmic Christ, Matthew Fox, a former Catholic priest and was excommunicated from the Church for his heretical teachings, now a Episcopalian priest, wrote:
We are all royal persons, creative, godly, divine, person of beauty and grace. We are all Cosmic Christ’s, “other Christ.” But what good is this if we do not know it.

I truly believe this is what “the lie” is all about and we see this spoken of by Paul in II Thessalonians 2:11. It was the lie that was given to Eve in the garden, that you shall be as god and it is the lie that is out there today, that we are gods! I think that this last day’s world religion will be focused on this lie, that we are gods!
Let me share this with you from September 17, 2011 as the Pope calls for all religions to coexist!
The
pope has stated that if people of all faiths do not “give
themselves to each other” that we will create hell on earth.
He insists we need to “let our neighbor in.” The pope
gave his thoughts at an interreligious dialogue meeting on Tuesday
in
“The
theme of the peace meeting, ‘Bound to live together,’
reminds us that we as human beings are bound to each other. This
living together is in fact a precondition that derives from our
being human. And it is our duty to give it a positive content.”
He added that living together can “transform itself into living against one another.” It “can become a hell if we do not learn to accept one another, if everyone only wants to be himself or herself.”
He continued: “it can also be a gift when we open up to one another, when we give ourselves to one another.”
The pope explained that living together was no longer a local issue, but is now a global issue for all of humanity and called it a “task” and a “gift.”
He said that God wanted all of humanity to be a family and for everyone to be “brothers and sisters.”
Pope Benedict XVI concluded by stating:
“When
religion fails in this meeting with God, when it pulls him down
to us instead of raising us up to him, when we, so to say, make
him our possession, then it can contribute to the destruction
of peace,” he cautioned. “But if it finds the way to
the divine, to the creator and redeemer of all people, then it
is a force for peace.”

And listen to what Saudi King Abdullah is up to, it seems strange and yet, it goes right along with uniting the religions of the world together into a one world religion! This is from October 17, 2011 and we are told,

and Spanish Foreign Minister Trinidad Jimenez Garcia-Herrera oversaw

Make no mistake about it, the religions of the world will coexist because we as Christians have compromised our faith and have taken the broad road instead of the narrow way through Jesus! Obviously not every Christian has done this, but when you listen to what many mega churches are teaching, what many denominations are getting into, you can clearly see we are in the last days and the church of Laodicea, the lukewarm church of the last days where Jesus is outside the church knocking to get in is upon us!
This is where we are headed folks, and please understand that when I say “we” I am speaking of the false church and not the true church, not those like us who believe God’s Word and are refusing to compromise our faith, the foundational truths of the Bible for any cause. We must earnestly contend for the faith that has been entrusted to us! What are those fundamentals of faith? There are five fundamentals of the faith, which are essential for Christianity, and upon which we agree:
The Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 1:1;
The Virgin Birth (Isaiah 7:14;
The Blood Atonement (Acts 20:28;
The Bodily Resurrection (Luke 24:36-46;
The inerrancy of the scriptures themselves (Psalms 12:6-7;
Listen to what Dr. Harry Ironside, (1876-1951), warned about the dangers of this deceptive notion that “all truth is God’s truth,” he wrote:
Error is like leaven, of which we read, “A little leaven leaventh the whole lump.” Truth mixed with error is equivalent to all error, except that it is more innocent looking and, therefore, more dangerous. God hates such a mixture! Any error, or any truth-and-error mixture calls for definite exposure and repudiation. To condone such is to be unfaithful to God and His Word and treacherous to imperiled souls for whom Christ died.

And Francis Shaeffer wrote:
But if we are going to have this answer [that Christianity is true to what God said in the Bible and to the real world we live in], notice that we must have the full biblical answer, and not reduce Christianity to either the paneverythingism of the East, or the paneverythingism of modern, liberal theology, whether Protestant or Roman Catholic. We must not reduce Christianity to the modern existential, upper-story theology!

There is an excellent book that I just finished reading on vacation that I would recommend to you. It is called, Bonhoeffer Pastor, Martyr, Prophet, Spy by Eric Metaxas. And this is one of the best biographies that I have read. Obviously it focuses on the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer who was murdered by Hitler and the Nazis because of his faith. And as you read this book you will see how Hitler used the Church to get what he wanted and when he was done with the Church he crushed it! Now the author did not focus on what this portrays or at least I believe it portrays and that is the Antichrist and how he will use the Church to rise to power and then he too will crush it just as Hitler did. If you don’t believe me then read the book of Revelation and you will see how that plays out!
